When Did London Fashion Week Start?

The British Fashion Council created London Fashion Week in 1983 out of the Fashion Industry Action Group, this was an ad-hoc group created in 1981 to bring a focus on British Fashion.

What is the aim of London Fashion Week?

The British Fashion Council is aiming to showcase the diverse talents of British designers and further enhance the profile of London as an international centre for fashion.  As a direct result of this London Fashion Week is considered one of the Big Four Fashion weeks alongside Paris, Milan and New York.

When is London Fashion Week?

London Fashion Week is held in September each year, in 2022 London Fashion was held between the 15th and 20th September showcasing the talents of designers including contemporary British designer Isabel Manns and Edward Crutchley.

Are there any initiatives to help fashion students?

The BFC College Initiative forms a link between the industry and fashion graduates from the UKs leading colleges.  A series of important sponsorship schemes including the MA Scholarship, NEWGEN and Fashion Forward are providing direct support to emerging British designers.
